Sparkable is the first social media platform designed entirely around the concept of bridging-based ranking, which amplifies content that bridges divides.
Sparkable is designed to amplify posts not when they get a lot of likes but when they get likes from people who would normally disagree.
Sparkable will measure what posts people have liked in the past on the platform. If people who have looked at but not liked identical posts in the past now do like the same post, it's a strong indicator that this post is valuable to people from different points of view, and Sparkable will amplify that post.
It's a work in progress, but we are driven by the vision of bringing communities together and fostering mutual understanding.

Working to increase understanding, peace, and freedom has always been challenging. Yet, it is more necessary than ever.
Today's social media amplifies hate.
Today's big social media platforms are advertisement-based, meaning they're profit-driven. The advertisement business model leads them to rank and amplify content primarily based on engagement metrics 1 2. This can fuel radicalization, polarization, and hate 3 4. In the worst case, it can contribute to physical violence 5 6.
We urgently need to build better systems.
Let's put people over profit.
We believe a more insightful and peaceful online environment is possible with conscious design choices starting at the root level: The business model.
Healthier social media must be not-for-profit.
To spark new understanding.
If profit-driven social media platforms designed to keep us hooked can spread hate and divide us, it must be possible to build the opposite: a platform that brings communities together and builds mutual understanding.
