November was a very busy month for Sparkable.
While we're working on our biggest platform update, our Executive Director, Vardon Hamdiu, was in Barcelona where he:
- joined Mozilla Festival as a speaker,
- facilitated a workshop at the Build Peace conference,
- and organized a Tech + Democracy Meetup.
Next, we're organizing a Tech + Democracy Meetup in 🇵🇹 Lisbon on Dec 10.

What happened in November:
Mozilla Festival (Nov 7-9)
Mozilla Festival was a huge conference which gathered over 2,000 people working to build a better digital world. Vardon was invited to speak at the session "Designing Inclusive Tech through Collective Care" organized by TechHer Nigeria. It was a great honor!
Build Peace conference (Nov 21-23)
The Build Peace Conference was incredible. Vardon met with peacebuilders, human rights defenders, politicians, researchers, etc. to discuss healthier tech. He also co-led a workshop entitled "Deliberative Tools Are Taking Off — Let’s Decide Where They Should Go!" together with pioneers in the field of deliberative technology. There is so much energy around this topic!
Tech + Democracy Meetup in Barcelona
After 🇩🇪 Berlin, 🇬🇧 London, 🇽🇰 Pristina, and 🇨🇭 Bern, we organized our fifth Tech + Democracy meetup at Canòdrom in Barcelona on Nov 19. We partnered again with Build Up to make it happen. The event was free of panels, and full of energy, fun, and meaningful connections. Thank you again to everyone!
